Busy, Busy, Busy

Well, our household has been busy lately!! Last weekend we added 2 little ones to our household fun while their parents celebrated their anniversary. Then, right after they left, we began the process of changing our daughter's room from a "baby" room to a "big girl" room!

WOW.... lots of PAINTING involoved!! I'll get pictures uploaded later today and added if you want to check back (you should check back!!). I painted the top half of the room light pink, the bottom half a light chocolate with a few watermelon and granny smith apple green stripes thrown in. The bedspread has all those colors with flowers and polka dots too! I also painted her nightstand to match. Cute, cute, cute! It about killed me to get it all down, but sooo worth it.

Right after I finished all the painting it was off on a business trip to Houston and right when we got back our ladies group at church had an all day craft event yesterday. Whew. I am sooo tired!

But, I've got lots to show you (plus I still had some cards I'd not uploaded yet!).

So, after church this afternoon I'll get the pics of Emma's room up for you to see.

Enjoy!

Baby Girl Card (w/ Bling!)

A friend of ours is having a baby girl after having 2 boys (she will be spoiled!!). So, of course I *had* to make her an ALL girlie card with LOTS of bling and STICKLES (love those!). I also pulled out my fave "bella baubles" and used stickles to adhere it to the center of the "flower" on the onesie shirt so it would bling it up a bit too.

I used the cricut cart New Arrival, cuttlebug folder Swissdots, and some cute pp, green grosgrain ribbon and called it done.

Enjoy!

Anniversary Card- Beautiful Life

There are so many anniversaries to celebrate this time of year because so many people get married this time of year!! (including us... in just a couple of weeks we will be celebrating 12 years!!)...

(warning... SAPPY stuff here...)
Anyway, there are a few special friends whose marriages mean a lot to me, and Lisa's is one of them. Not just because we have worked together for so long and are raising kids together and are in business together, but because we are really friends (through all the good and the bad). We have really walked some hard roads together.

I really appreciate their marriage. They have made a beautiful life together and it is something to be celebrated.
(okay, END of sappy stuff)

I used an SCS sketch, some HL paper I bought last year for a wedding card, my Distress Inks, and LOTS of sponging and distressing for a simple but elegant card.

enjoy!

Baby Boy Blessings

There is a new little baby boy in the world now! He joined big sister Emily, Alyssa, Anna, and big brother Eli last week. His mom and dad have been friends of ours for a few years now and she too is a scrapbooker (and has a blog!), so I know she will love and value a handmade (truly from the heart on this one) card.

We are planning our next trip to visit them this summer and I just can't wait to hold this newest little one. They are such a neat family and I love how our families have just sort of blended. My son absolutely loves playing with all those older girls and my daughter has a ball with the girls and Eli too.

I used New Arrival cricut cart (not one I use often, but it does come in handy!), pp, and CTMH grey wool ink (softer than black and not quite as "off" as brown for a baby boy card).

Enjoy!

Congrats Dr!

A friend of ours is graduating today with her medical degree! What a wonderful accomplishment... and certainly she is very deserving as she is wife and a mom of two boys.

I used some sample CTMH Notebook paper (seemed fitting!) that I added an extra distressed look with Distress Inks. Stamps are the $1 Studio G stamps that I bought last year spring.

Enjoy!

Mother's Day Card 2

I made this card for Terry's mom... I just hope it got through the mail okay! That bow (it took me about 4 or 5 tries!!) looks awesome (irl), but is pretty big and I worry that it will get mangled.

It is a quilt card made with paper scraps from a pp swap, image swap, and green grosgrain ribbon and green cs.

I stamped another Happy Mom's Day on the inside!

Enjoy!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day all you mom's out there!!

I made a card using some PTI Sweet Blush and pp, Bella Baubles, and a friend let me borrow some cricut carts... so I cut out a cute little rose. I stamped the sentiment from CTMH Say it in Style.

Just a simple card, really, for my mom.

But very lovely, I think!

Have a wonderful day!

Mother's Day Card 1

I am pretty lucky to be able to call my stepmother a friend. I loved the way her card turned out, elegant.

I colored some stamped images and cut them out and the card is called a gate-fold card.

Hope you are ready for Mom's Day this Sunday!!

Enjoy!

Bella Birthday Piecing

The card sketch is actually my own... I kept trying to make it fit one of my other sketches, but finally gave up.

I used Balloonabella, with PTI Berry Sorbet (and polka dot ribbon) and Sweet Blush cs (also used in the balloons). I paper pieced her dress and used copics for her skin and hair.

This will be a birthday card, stamped on the inside with CTMH Hollyhock which coordinates beautifully with the Berry Sorbet.

Enjoy!

It's that wonderful time of the year again...

Every year at this time we celebrate birthdays (some grown-up... but mostly children), lots of anniversaries (we went to our 1st wedding in years, last year), graduations (not high school or college anymore, but grad school, nursing school, and med school), and babies... LOTS and LOTS of babies!! (although they are slowly tapering off just a bit- I think!).

Anyway, I have been so incredibly busy with my new practice over the last couple of months, but have been keeping an eye on the calendar (knowing that Mom's Day- we have 3 to celebrate- is thrown in that mix) and Dad's Day (again, I have 3 cards to make for that) rounds out the card craziness of May and June.

So, I went into card overdrive when I visited my dad and stepmom recently.

I'll start a bunch of posts this week. I've got the pics uploaded. I just need to write up quick notes about them and post them.

Enjoy!
